Over the last several months we’ve added six new staff members to our growing team at the Halifax office.
“It’s been great to see our team grow with the addition of such talented people,” says Andrew Doyle, president of Extreme Group. “We always seem to hit the lotto in terms of the caliber of people we are able to attract.”
Joyce Nifort is Extreme Group’s newest member. Joyce brings 18 years of advertising and publishing experience to Extreme Group, eight of those years as a graphic artist and 10 as a production manager. At Extreme Group, Joyce will be filling the role of director of project management. Her strong leadership ability and commitment to success are evident both at work and in the community. She volunteers with organizations such as the Children’s Wish Foundation, Metro SPCA Shelter and the Halifax-Dartmouth Huntington Society.
Allison Garber has returned as senior account manager for the Extreme pubic affairs team after spending some time working for the provincial government. Allison is a graduate of the University of King’s College and the Nova Scotia Community College’s public relations program. She is a specialist in government relations as well as in media relations and crisis management. Allison’s previous career in government has been highlighted by a continuous commitment to public service. Her passion for her province and its future success is evident in the various roles she has held to date including senior policy advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, senior policy advisor to the Minister of Community Services and policy advisor for Nova Scotia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. She currently sits on the board of the East Coast Children’s Safety Village and provides communications support for Titz n’ Glitz.
Tara Joosse is another recent addition to the Extreme public affairs team and holds the position of account coordinator. Tara’s qualifications are backed by a public relations diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College and a BA from Saint Mary’s University. She is a volunteer board member of IABC Maritime Canada where she is responsible for educational relations.
A graduate of the NSCAD communication design program, Amy Boehmer has joined Extreme group as the agency’s new senior designer. Amy has previously worked at Karo in Vancouver and most recently spent the past three years as senior graphic designer for enRoute magazine.
Originally from Newfoundland, Kristen Baker left “The Rock” to attend Mount Saint Vincent University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She continued to further her education at Sheridan College in Toronto by obtaining a certificate in advertising management. An east coast girl at heart, Kristen moved back to Halifax and landed in her position at Extreme Group as an account coordinator.
Jacklyn McCann also hails from “The Rock” and is recent graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University’s public relations program. She jumped straight into the world of PR and advertising as an account coordinator at Extreme Group. Jacklyn also sits on the IABC Maritime Canada board, and volunteers with Fusion Halifax and the Tony Griffin Foundation.
